🔍 What to look for / verify
Since there are many products and some may be low-quality or misleading, here are key features & check-points:
-
Magnet Grade “N55”: Good products mention “N55” magnets (which are stronger than older N52). Example: some mounts highlight N55 magnets for stronger hold.
-
360° Rotation or similar: You wanted 360° rotation — ensure the mount supports full rotation or at least wide angle adjustment.
-
Vacuum / Suction Cup + Secure Base: If mounted on dashboard or windshield, a strong suction or vacuum base is important.
-
MagSafe Compatibility: If you have a MagSafe-enabled phone (e.g., iPhones) or magnetic case, make sure the mount explicitly supports MagSafe or offers metal ring for non-MagSafe. Many newer magnetic mounts do.
-
Quality of materials / clip (for vent mounts) or base adhesion (for suction mounts): For vent mounts, clip strength matters; for suction mounts, adhesive or vacuum mechanism needs to hold under heat/vibration. Example: clip design with “double-lock” etc.
-
Surface & Installation Environment: Suction cups work best on smooth, flat surfaces (glass, smooth dashboard). Uneven or textured surfaces may reduce hold.
-
Check for Interference / Safety: Magnets might interfere (rarely) with things like wireless charging or phone sensors, so pick a product designed for MagSafe/cases. Also ensure it doesn’t obstruct view or air vents.
